The Picture Museum of Sorcery Magic and Alchemy

Emile Givroy De Givry wrote a plethora of books on the subjects of alchemy and sorcery.  This particular one consists of 395 pages of fascinating information about occult symbols and traditions, divided into three sections: sorcerers, magicians, and alchemists.  Many different topics are covered, including necromancy, possession and influence of demons, in quasi-historical detail, breathtakingly illustrated by nearly 376 reproductions of woodcuts, paintings and other illustrations culled from centuries of religious history. Anybody who enjoys occult history and quasi-metaphysical academic studies of magic will be enthralled.

Near fine/perfect condition. In black and red boards with somewhat scuffed slipcase.

Translated by John Courtenay Locke.

University Books, New York, 1963.
